| Do you
require a deposit?
Yes. To confirm your booking a deposit of 25% is required.
A bond of $800 is also required upon hire.
Am I insured?
Yes. You are covered by hull damage or collision, and
3rd party liability insurance but are liable for the
first $1000. However If you follow the rules and directions
given, use common sense, and avoid other vessels, nothing
should happen.

Where are the boats located?
The boats are based in Waitoki 10 minutes from the Silverdale off ramp in Auckland.
What happens if the weather's bad?
No problem - we will refund your deposit or you can book another day.
Do I need boating experience?
Boating experience is essential. You must be able to
operate the boat and have knowledge of the operating
area. Day Skipper and Boat Masters licenses are not
required but certainly help.
Do you accept credit cards?
We accept Visa and Mastercard. We prefer deposits are direct credited into our bank account.
Do you have lifejackets for children?
We have 2 children’s lifejackets available if
required.
Is fuel included in the rental?
Cost of fuel and oil is calculated upon return based on refill.
What areas can the boats be taken to?
The MSA has surveyed the boats for the east coast of
NZ, from Bay of Islands to Tauranga, including out to
Gt Barrier, and inland lakes in restricted limits -
which means the boats are not allowed more than 12 NM
off shore except for passage to and from Gt Barrier.
Are there any safety rules on board?
Yes and we will go over these with you at time of hire
(fire extinguishers, EPIRB, flares & smoke floats
and VHF radio).
I don't have a 4WD or a large car to tow. Can
you help me to launch and retrieve the boat?
We can launch and retrieve the boats for you at an extra cost, depending on the boat ramp.
How many people can the boats take?
Moby Dick (6m boat) is surveyed for 7 passengers, and Knot A Care (4m boat) is surveyed for up to 4 passengers.
What if I need to cancel my booking?
We understand circumstances may change, but if a booking is cancelled within 72 hours of the specified booked date a cancellation fee of $125 will apply (unless due to poor weather conditions).
